Sherry Eklund

Sherry Eklund has been educating young children for over 20 years. With the goal of cultivating the greatest potential in every child, Sherry enlists many of the proven techniques developed by Dr. Maria Montessori to take advantage of the time sensitive opportunities that naturally occur as children age and mature. In this period of "the absorbent mind", Sherry is a master at establishing a life long love for learning among her students.

With a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Early Childhood Education from California State University, Sacramento, Sherry went on to earn her Montessori teaching credential at the highly regarded National Center for Montessori Education in Fair Oaks, CA.

Her love and appreciation of music helped Sherry create a music curriculum for Montessori programs that became the model used in many Montessori schools throughout California. Sherry's successful use of music and movement was the foundation of her acclaimed Musical Fun For Tots classes she taught throughout South Orange County and North County San Diego. Sherry is also credited with developing innovative summer camps for children including "Girl Power", the popular empowerment classes for young females.

Children's House of Oceanside is certified by the National Center for Montessori Education (NCME), and Sherry is a member of the National Association for Montessori Educators.
